Texas French Symposium

The Texas French Symposium is an Annual French Symposium for high school students in the state of Texas.
Students register to compete against other peers in academic and non-academic events. The symposium's purpose is to promote the French language and encourage the students' interest in the French culture.
Begun in 1964, at Mac Arthur High School in San Antonio, Texas, the Texas French Symposium continues to inspire students to further their knowledge of the French language and culture.
About the Texas French Symposium Competition
- Annual two-day competition in academic and non-academic events
- Competition categories include: Poetry, Prose, Guided Speaking, Sightreading, Drama, Video, Art, Music, Scrapbook, Comic Strip, and Soccer.
- Testing categories include French grammar; French vocabulary; French civilization; and Listening Comprehension.
- 1000 students compete annually
- Awards include scholarships, home-stays, trophies, plaques, and medals.
- Hosted in high schools throughout Texas
- Administered by French teachers
- A great experience for any student!
