H. E. Ambassador Moussa Camara, permanent representative to the UN of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie and his wife will be at The Awty International School to celebrate with Awty’s communities the official sponsorship (parrainage) of the school by the OIF. A reception for the school’s VIPs and Ambassador Camara and his wife as guests of honour will take place at 1.30 pm. The Ambassador will give a brief talk relating to appreciation of the French culture on every continent which will open the performance organized by Ms. Richi, French language teacher at Awty and her Secondary School students with music and dances from across the French speaking cultural world.

Awty students are raising money to purchase solar flashlights which will be distributed in 2 French speaking countries,in honor of the Francophonie celebration at the school. The solar flashlights Awty sends out supports children (and adults) reading and writing in the evening, in areas of the world without electricity, thereby helping them further their education to make them self sufficient citizens of the world.
