Please join us as the Alliance Française kicks off the mois de la Francophonie with the opening reception of the exhibition « Souvenirs de France : Paris et la Provence » by photographer Wayne Wendel on Thursday, March 1st at 6:00 PM at the Alliance Française de Houston.
Wayne Wendel took up photography as a hobby in 1967 while stationed in Germany with the USAF. His career path took him into Law Enforcement where he spent 33 years with the Houston Police Department, 29 years as a homicide investigator.
Since retiring in 2005, Wayne’s life has been all about photography. His photographs have won awards, been featured on the covers of national magazines and in a book published by the Houston Wilderness Society. He shares his knowledge and love of photography with area camera clubs and as a volunteer instructor for photography classes at local nature centers.
Last year Wayne and his wife travelled to Paris and visited several villages in Provence. This exhibit is a collection of their “Memories of France”.
